ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

The pKa values of four compounds used in the treatment of allergic reactions, bilastine, cetirizine, montelukast and rupatadine have been potentiometrically determined in micellar solutions of nonionic surfactant Brij 35. Nonionic micelles affected the ionization of investigated compounds from -1.97 to +2.51 pKa units comparing to “pure” water. The most significant changes in distribution of the equilibrium forms are observed at pH values of biopharmaceutical importance which may indicate on potential interactions with noncharged but polar molecules under the physiological conditions.
