ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
Salting-out and synergic effects in the extraction of acetylsalicylic acid from aqueous solutions were investigated. The presence of NaCl in aqueous phase improved extraction efficacy of acetylsalicylic acid by diethyl ether and Setschenow salting-out constant was determined to be 0.2178 which is close to the value obtained from the solubility measurements. Higher distribution ratio values for the extraction of acetylsalicylic acid were also obtained when extraction was performed with diethyl ether/1-butanol binary solvent mixtures instead of pure solvents for the whole range of binary mixture compositions. Synergic coefficients obtained for acetylsalicylic acid are similar to the ones obtained for paracetamol extraction with the same binary mixtures. However, for acetylsalicylic acid the synergic effect was highest when binary mixture with slight excess of diethyl ether was used for extraction while in the case of paracetamol the synergic effect was highest when binary mixture with an excess of 1-butanol was used.
