ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

Diethylenetriamine macroporous crosslinked copolymer of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA), SGE80-deta, was tested as sorbent of Congo red (CR), in static experiments, from aqueous solutions, at room temperature. The sorption is found to be rapid, with a sorption half-time of 2 min, and a maximum uptake capacity higher than 80% after 30 min. In order to calculate kinetic parameters as well as to determine the rate-limiting step and CR sorption mechanism, obtained kinetic data were fitted to kinetic models. The obtained results suggest a complex mechanism of CR sorption by SGE80-deta, which includes chemisorption and external and internal diffusion.
