SAŽETAK /ABSTRACT:
The SCALAR lightning detection system, integrated into the EUCLID network, provides real‑time and historical data on lightning discharges across Europe. While primarily used for lightning protection and power system reliability, its educational potential remains largely unexplored. This paper presents the application of SCALAR in undergraduate electrical engineering education. The system enables students to perform statistical analyses of real lightning data, including ground flash density, peak current distributions, and polarity statistics. Additional features, such as outage correlation and alarm services, allow students to examine lightning‑related power system faults. By integrating real‑world data into laboratory exercises, students develop practical skills and bridge the gap between theory and engineering practice.
