ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:
Povećanje broja stanovnika, nekontrolisano širenje urbanih područja i rapidna urbanizacija su glavni faktori koji dovode do smanjenja zelenih površina, što ima za posledicu niz ekoloških problema i negativno utiče na kvalitet života u gradovima. Prema podacima UN-a, trenutno 55% svetske populacije živi u gradovima. Do 2050.godine se očekuje da će se taj procenat podići na 68%, što znači da će oko 6,6 milijardi ljudi živeti u urbanim sredinama, što će rezultirati povećanjem broja megagradova i porastu zagađenja vazduha, jednom od ključnih faktora koji utiču na klimatske promene. Održivost gradova postaje ključno pitanje, a urbani zeleni prostori, među njima i zeleni koridori, igraju važnu ulogu u tom procesu. Njihov osnovni cilj je da doprinesu stvaranju održivih industrijskih, urbanih i transportnih mreža, rešavajući kompleksne zahteve vezane za ekologiju, tehniku, ekonomiju, društvo i prostorno planiranje. Pružajući mnoštvo ekoloških benefita, urbani zeleni koridori su ključni za očuvanje ekologije i biodiverziteta. Pored toga, donose i društvene beneficije, unapređujući blagostanje ljudi kroz direktnu interakciju sa prirodom, što smanjuje zdravstvene probleme i doprinosi poboljšanju opšteg kvaliteta života u urbanim sredinama. Oslanjajući se na analizu referentne literature i izabranih primera dobre prakse, ovaj rad pre svega sagledava ulogu i značaj zelenih koridora u jačanju urbane otpornosti na klimatske promene.
