SAŽETAK /ABSTRACT:

Ideja o važnosti otvorenih javnih prostora za urbanu održivost može se pratiti kroz veliki broj teorijskih radova objavljenih u vrhunskim časopisima i monografijama renomiranih svetskih izdavača. U isto vreme, u praksi urbanog planiranja i dizajna, vrlo je značajna primena ovog koncepta, bilo da se radi o novim ili rekonstruisanim javnim prostorima. Lokalne zajednice, planeri i lokalno stanovništvo prepoznali su ekološki, društveni i ekonomski značaj urbanih javnih prostora. Ovim radom se, na osnovu pregleda literature, analizira značaj urbanog javnog prostora kao mesta susreta, interakcije i kao ključnog faktora u stvaranju socijalne kohezije i identiteta, inkluzivnosti i pristupačnosti zajednice. Ovaj rad stavlja akcenat pre svega na odnose urbanog javnog prostora kao elementa fizičke strukture, koji koji je u interakciji sa društveno-socijalnim aspektima javnog prostora. Razmatrani su prostorni i projektantski aspekti, ali i mogući problemi sa kojima se zajednica suočava, identifikuju problrmi i daju predlozi za njihovo rešavanje. Proučavanjem inovativnih pristupa i kreativnih rešenja za projektovanje novih ili transformaciju postojećih urbanih javnih prostora u održive i multifunkcionalne celine, koje mogu da podrže različite aktivnosti i potrebe zajednice, doprinosi se održivosti urbanih javnih prostora, bezbednosti, sigurnosti i zdravoj životnoj srdini. U radu su predložena rešenja kako doći do pametnih urbanih javnih prostora korišćenjem novih tehnologija koje mogu da poboljšaju njihovu prostornu, ekološku i socijalno-ekonomsku vrednost. Ovim, kao i drugim parametrima otvorenih urbanih javnih prostora bavi se ovaj rad.
