SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
In the contemporary business environment, companies face increasing challenges related to sustainability, competitiveness, and regulatory compliance. The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework has emerged as a important factor in addressing these challenges, guiding businesses toward responsible corporate behavior and long-term sustainability. This paper examines the role of ESG principles in enhancing business competitiveness, analyzing how organizations integrate ESG strategies to mitigate risks, improve reputation, and align with regulatory requirements. The study highlights key drivers of ESG adoption, including climate change, digital transformation, and stakeholder expectations, emphasizing the importance of sustainable business models. Additionally, the paper explores the impact of international management standards, such as ISO frameworks, on ESG implementation and discusses best practices for integrating ESG principles into corporate strategies. The findings suggest that companies adopting structured ESG approaches experience improved financial performance, operational resilience, and greater stakeholder trust. The research contributes to the ongoing discourse on ESG by providing insights into how organizations can leverage sustainability to gain a competitive advantage in the global market.
