SAŽETAK /ABSTRACT:
This paper presents the development of a mobile application within the Android development environment, designed to provide users with a simple, organized, and reliable overview of their daily insulin intake, as well as support in making therapy-related decisions. The system’s special value lies in its functional imitation of the basic principles of an insulin pump, which is particularly important for a large number of people with diabetes in Serbia who do not have access to advanced therapeutic devices due to their high cost and limited reimbursement by the national health insurance system. The paper covers not only the technical implementation of the application, but also an analysis of the context of its use, the definition of requirements, the system structure, data model, and the role of technology in improving self-management and the quality of life of individuals with diabetes.
