ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

In this study, nanocomposite hydrogels were prepared by embedding the different concentrations of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) in a poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNiPAAm) crosslinked matrix. UV- Vis and FTIR spectroscopy have been employed to determine the presence of TiO2 NPs in the polymer network and examine their molecular interactions, respectively. The TiO2/PNiPAAm nanocomposite hydrogels showed a slightly higher swelling capacity and a faster swelling/deswelling processes compared to PNiPAAm hydrogel. Additionally, the volume phase transition temperature of nanocomposites is shifted towards somewhat higher values.
