ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
Herein we present the analysis and comparing fundamental chemometric methods: fold change (FC) analysis and univariate statistics for identifying differentially expressed lipids in human serum samples into pancreatic cancer or control group, using a lipidomic datasets retrieved from the research article „Lipidomic profiling of human serum enables detection of pancreatic cancer“ by Wolrab et al. [1]. Our main objective was to assess and compare basic chemometric methods, as well as the potential using a smaller number of samples in lipidomic studies. We have concluded that it is possible to use a smaller number of samples for basic chemometric analysis, but the exact number depends on the level of accuracy required.
