ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

The catalytic degradation of Remazol Brilliant Blue R (RBBR) in the presence of potassium peroxymonosulfate (Oxone®) was investigated, using Co-supported hybrid inorganic-organic carbon-smectite as a catalyst. The catalyst was synthetized by simultaneously intercalation of inorganic Al-Keggin and organic hexadecyltrimethylammonium (HDTMA+) cations, followed by wet impregnation by Co2+ ions, and finally submitted to heat treatment in Ar atmosphere at 500 °C. The catalytic tests were performed in temperature range from 25 °C to 45 °C in order to determinate kinetics parameters. The kinetics data showed best fit with the pseudo-zero-order kinetics model. Arrhenius equation was used to calculate the activation energy of the degradation process.
