ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

The effect of helium as a surrounding gas on the abundance and intensity of the spectra in the laser- induced plasma was considered. A microsecond laser at 10.6 µm was used to induce the breakdown plasma and, the outcome is illustrated in the archaeological valued coins. The two distant past coins were considered and, with both, additional and distinctively intensive spectral lines were recorded compared to air. This is especially valid in the 200-300 nm range in which these spectral lines may be used to identify the main but specifically the trace elements. The sulfur case is pointed out here.
