ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

The article shows that the final surface treatment of the outer cardboard liner with a 30% ammonium polyphosphate-based flame retardant solution ensures the best integrity and preservation of consumer properties of the packaging after direct contact with an open flame source. At the same time, modified cardboard provides a significant reduction in flammability and changes the nature of combustion. The findings highlight the need to consider the fire resistance of materials when designing packaging for environments where there is a risk of localized heating or fire.
