САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

This paper analyzes the advantages of one of the innovative approaches to the production of electricity from the energy of solar radiation using vertically mounted bifacial solar panels in solar power plants. Traditional horizontal configurations face challenges such as land use efficiency, space limitations, and variable exposure to solar radiation throughout the day as well as high panel temperatures, which can significantly decrease solar panel efficiency. The vertical configuration of the power plant offers several advantages, including greater space utilization, potential reduction of shading between panels, better exploitation in terms of panel heating during summer days, and the potential for improved electricity generation during non-peak solar hours. The main advantage of such a system is that in the early morning and late afternoon the power plant produces more than conventional systems with a horizontally placed, south-facing configuration. Using simulation models and case studies from a real example of the electricity market and typical daily consumption diagrams, the paper will analyze the feasibility of vertical solar power plants in both technical and economic aspects. The results of the simulations will show that the production of this type of power plant at certain hours during the day better corresponds to the daily consumption diagram. The trend of building the aforementioned power plants is growing and can become one of the significant types of distributed renewable sources of electricity, finding its use both in urban areas such as cities, roofs of buildings, parks where space is limited, and on agricultural land where electricity production can be combined with the cultivation of various crops.
