SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:

At the ENTSO-E and European levels, processes are taking place that directly impact Serbia’s power sector and the operational activities of the Transmission System Operator. Two key processes within ENTSO-E – coordinated security analysis and coordinated capacity calculations – are implemented in a harmonized manner. Within capacity calculations, two methodological approaches are applied: the NTC method and the flow-based method. This paper presents the regulatory process of EMS AD’s integration into the European capacity calculation regions – CORE and SEE – with a particular focus on the challenge EMS AD faces in this context. Additionally, the fundamental concepts of coordinated processes are outlined, some of which will be implemented within the Transmission System Operator, while others will be carried out through Regional Coordination Centers. Regardless of the methodology used for capacity calculations in different phases, the 70% critical element capacity allocation rule must be met. The paper presents preliminary results on compliance with this rule, considering that its implementation is mandatory under the Energy Law.
