SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
The proposed paper aims to point out the most important impacts of wind farms on the environment, predominantly with an emphasis on negative impacts. The environmental impact is considered through all three phases of exploitation in the lifecycle of the wind farm, i.e. through project development and designing, construction and exploitation. The most important aspects that are taken into consideration in the preparation of environmental impact assessment studies of wind farms are analysed, namely the impact on the fauna of birds and bats, as well as other flora and fauna, the impact of noise and vibrations, flickering of the shadow („flicker“), the problem of flying elements and ice rejection, the impact on fire risk, the aesthetic impact on the landscape, as well as the impact on radar systems. For these aspects, the methods of research, impact assessment and observation, as well as mitigation measures applied in the design and construction phase, are discussed.
