SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:

Numeric protection and control devices in the HV substations of Elektroprenos BiH are integrated into the station monitoring and control systems. These systems are connected to the remote monitoring and control system, implemented in four operational area dispatch centers and the NOS (Independent System Operator) dispatch center. This paper presents the technical preparation and method of using data recorded in the system database at the operational area Banja Luka dispatcher center by various users. A special class of users are protection relay engineers. In addition to data from the aforementioned system, fault and disturbance analyses also utilize data obtained directly from protection devices, most often in the form of disturbance records. The paper demonstrates how the communication infrastructure was prepared to obtain these data from devices of various generations and manufacturers.

The paper particularly highlights the issue of verifying the accuracy of data obtained from fault locators integrated into the distance protection devices. The ability to quickly obtain the exact location of a fault is crucial for the timely elimination of faults on overhead high-voltage transmission lines, especially in challenging winter conditions.
