SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
The paper briefly presents a simplified process from planning to revitalization of existing relay protection and local control systems (RZLU) in substations: TS Sremska Mitrovica 2, TS Jagodina 4, TS Sombor 3. The paper presents definitions of the life cycle and operational life of IED (Intelligent Electronic Device), as well as a method for determining the probability of failure of IED. The process of replacing outdated RZLU systems with the listed substations, whose installation period is between 2005-2006 is described. Considering the operational life of the IED, the reconstruction in 2023 predicts to retaining the existing RZLU system with the addition of new multifunctional IED relay protection devices. After the revitalization, the redundancy and reliability of the RZLU system have increased
