САЖЕТАК /ABSTRACT:

Настојећи да одговоримо на питање како је књига необразованог котлокрпе била бестселер који је  продат  у  преко  100 000 копија за Бањановог живота, до 1938. године доживела око 1300 издања, добила статус претече романа у енглеској књижевости, преведена на око 216 светских језика, а њен аутор назван „Спенсером обичних људи” и „пуританским Шекспиром”, овим радом истражујемо утицај Бањанове вишеслојнe фикције на различите генерације са намером да савременом читаоцу откријемо потенцијал вишеструких читања алегорије Ходочасниково путовање (The Pilgrim’s Progress, 1678, 1684).
