SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
The problems and challenges are numerous, and we, as experts who participate in policymaking and monitoring progress, emphasize that a sustainable approach is necessary in the creation of development policies – economic growth that will not increase greenhouse gas emissions and will minimize the negative impact on the environment.
The circular economy is characterized by low energy consumption, low emissions of pollutants and high eficiency in the use of resources during economic activity.
The concept of a circular economy is based on the assumption of using resources in production in a way that maximizes their use, minimizes waste, and at the end of its useful life, returns the product to the production cycle to create new value. This saves limited economic resources and reduces waste, thus protecting the environment. Circular economy products are designed in a way that allows them to be easily reused, repaired, refurbished, and recycled.
The circular economy is changing business models, habits, and the way of thinking of both producers and consumers.
