The United States has long been the primary driver of globalization, economically, politically, and culturally. However, recent developments suggest a retreat from this trajectory. On April 2, 2025, President Trump implemented sweeping tariff measures, described by some as an “economic nuclear bomb” and by others as an “economic tsunami,” affecting close partners such as the EU, Canada, and Mexico, as well as competitors like China.
