SAŽETAK /ABSTRACT:
Project management represents a structured approach to planning, monitoring and controlling complex systems composed of interdependent activities aimed at achieving defined objectives within limited resources. In industrial environments, the production of a complex product can be treated as a specific project requiring efficient management tools. This paper aims to present a project-based approach to production management using the WinQSB software package for modelling, planning and analysing production processes of complex products. The research applies graph theory to modelling the structure of a complex product, which is then transformed into a network diagram suitable for project management analysis. The PERT method implemented in WinQSB is used to determine the critical path and overall project duration. The proposed methodology enables the identification of critical production phases, the reduction of production uncertainty, and the visualisation of interdependent activities. The total project duration was calculated based on a single critical path. The results confirm that the transformation of the product structure into a network model provides a solid foundation for applying project management tools such as WinQSB in planning and optimising the production cycle. The study demonstrates the integration of project management techniques and manufacturing systems modelling through software-supported decision-making.
