SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
The calculation of vertical pile interaction can be carried out using different methods, each with its own advantages and limitations. Vertical interaction depends both on the number and arrangement of piles, as well as on the stiffness ratio between the piles and the pile cap (beam or slab). This paper presents the application of vertical pile interaction and several methods of its analysis. Pile interaction within a group is usually performed iteratively, where the initial iteration may assume the deflection of each individual pile under interaction, with the stiffness of the pile cap neglected and equal load intensity applied to all piles. The final iteration corresponds to the condition in which pile deflections are equalized, as if the pile cap were infinitely rigid, resulting in load redistribution. The actual distribution of deflections and forces within the group lies between the initial and the final iteration, and depending on the pile cap stiffness, it may be closer to the initial or to the final iteration.
