SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
Sustainable development represents growth without the influence of additional, external incentives. Such development has its own growth dynamics, establishes energy and material resource savings and helps maintain the balance of biodiversity. Therefore, the Scientific importance of such a topic is justified. The research Topic follows the phenomenon of sustainable development in ideas, values, and ethical norms (requirements of need) through Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato sì, published on May 24, 2015. However, the research Subject is somewhat narrower, and connects Sustainable Development from the papal encyclical Laudato sì with the „European Union’s Green Agenda for the Western Balkans“. The Basic assumption is that the „EU Green Agenda for the Western Balkans“ is a some kind of operationalization of values that stem from the theological and social document of Pope Francis. The Aim of the research is to connect these two documents. Social justification should primarily be sought in: further deepening the ethics of Sustainable Development, Energy eficiency and biodiversity conservation. Methods: document content analysis, comparative method, case studies, statistical method…
