SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
The human and social rights of migrant workers in many industries are an almost eternal challenge for so-called developed countries. During the first wave of the co- ronavirus pandemic, we witnessed violations of the human dignity of migrant workers from Eastern Europe in many sectors of employment in the western part of the European Union. In addition to protecting the workers concerned, the system suddenly revealed thousands of migrant workers who hold important jobs in several areas that are not in demand in the economically developed countries of the European Union. The importance of addressing these urgent issues at the European Union level is a sign of the credibility of this common European political project and therefore requires significant efforts to improve social rights, especially the rights of its members. In this contribution, we would like to draw attention to the existing aspirations and efforts of several European and national political and legislative institutions and other organizations in seeking possible solutions to this unsustainable situation in the area of human rights and human dignity of European Union members.
