ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

The European Union has a transformative power, but it takes time for its full realisation. Voters in countries expect transformation and want the changes to happen immediately, but it takes several decades to establish a democratic political culture. The crisis of democracy and the rise of populist and right-wing politics within the EU bring additional challenges. The transformative power, however, must come from within society, and the same applies to their Europeaness. In that sense, the Student and Civic Protest in Serbia in 2024/25 has awoken Serbian society.
