ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

On 6 August 2025 Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio agreed Serbia and the US would hold a strategic dialogue to “deepen economic and security ties.”2 It was noted this move was a historic one which was designed to “launch a new era of relations between the United States and Serbia.”3 The timing of this development is auspicious in the current moment with the war in Ukraine dragging into a fourth year and other sources of instability throughout the continent making themselves felt. Now would seem the prudent moment to seize on the possibility to fortify relationships between the US and European partners. Serbia falls neatly into this bucket, where they can “capitalize on the current momentum to position themselves as more reliable, constructive, and strategically relevant partners.”
