САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
This study provides new insights into the feasibility of applying a toxicity test after photocatalytic degradation to confirm the success of the process itself. Photocatalytic degradation of carbofuran (CBF) was performed in the presence of laser-treated TiO2 nanotube arrays on a Ti mesh under simulated sunlight irradiation. Germination of barley seeds (Hordeum vulgare L.) was evaluated before and after 150 min of photocatalytic degradation of CBF. A phytotoxicity study was performed to determine whether barley seed was suitable for this type of testing and to confirm degradation efficiency.
