ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

This study examines determinants of food literacy and food waste behavior among young people in North Macedonia through a cross-sectional survey (N=201). Results indicate high self-reported meal completion, substantial understanding of expiration labeling (74.63%), and broad awareness of smart labeling technologies (70.15%). Chi-square analysis revealed no significant demographic differences. The findings support integrating smart digital labeling and education-based interventions to strengthen sustainable consumption practices.
