ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:
The research aims to examine the influence of the variety (Matador and Odysseus) and mulching control (black polyethylene foil, straw, and agrotextile) on the yield and nutritional value of spinach in a greenhouse. The highest yield is accomplished by using the black PE foil (3.910 kg m-2), especially with the Odysseus variety, which stands out for its quantitative and qualitative characteristics. Organic mulches had a positive effect on the nutritional quality of spinach, while agrotextile increased iron content (88.76 mg kg-1), and straw increased vitamin C (41.70 mg 100 g-1). Results confirm the importance of cultivar and mulch on the yield and quality of spinach.
