ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:
This paper presents a methodology for assessing the condition of existing earthen levees in the Šajkaška Water Management Authority (Vojvodina) under changing climate conditions. Field inspections and analysis of available data on levee construction and characteristics were conducted to identify key degradation mechanisms, assess risk levels, and evaluate the reliability of the flood protection system.Based on the identified risk factors, rehabilitation and improvement measures are proposed to enhance safety and functionality. These include strengthening critical sections, implementing adaptive maintenance, applying modern monitoring technologies, and adopting contemporary flood risk management principles.The proposed approach enables systematic condition assessment and rationalization of rehabilitation activities, thereby improving the safety and durability of hydraulic structures under changing climate conditions.
