SAŽETAK:

Autori u radu ispituju stavove studenata pedagoških i učiteljskih fakulteta (N = 394) iz četiri države Zapadnog Balkana o (a) prednostima i (b) ograničenjima korišćenja elektronske knjige i (v) o perspektivi korišćenja različitih formi knjige u izmenjenom društvenom kontekstu. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da studenti najviše cene prak- tični aspekt korišćenja e-knjige, ubrajajući u njene najznačajnije prednosti dostupnost i mogućnost da se na jednom uređaju smesti veći broj knjiga, dok kao najvažnije nedostatke ističu nedostatak mirisa i zvuka pri okretanju stranica i zamaranje čitaoca  prilikom korišćenja. Budući učitelji i vaspitači saglasni su da će štampana knjiga uvek imati svoje mesto kod čitalaca, nezavisno od napretka savremene tehnologije, kao i da će se posle pandemije većina ljudi opet vratiti štampanoj knjizi. Sa druge strane, njihovi stavovi nisu usaglašeni prilikom procene potpune dominacije elektronske knjige nad štampanom, u nekom trenutku u budućnosti.

Iako su današnji studenti odrasli u digitalnom informatičkom okruženju, njihovi stavovi u vezi sa korišćenjem elektronske knjige impliciraju da umeju kritički da procene mesto i ulogu različitih formi knjige u procesu kreiranja produktivnog okruženja za učenje.
