ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:

The authors of this chapter adopt an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses art history, music history and psychology of music. The study depicts the multilayered context of artistic, social, political, and cultural system intersections between the East and West during the Cold War, the circumstances that brought the appearance of the SKC phenomenon, and how the political ideology of the student movement transformed into the artistic ideology of the so-called “second line” (term by Ješa Denegri). The focus is on the minimalistic/neo-avant-garde composer and performer Miroslav Miša Savić, who played a role in the emerging neo-avant-garde movement during a crucial period of two decades (1973–1995). His life path will be viewed in the light of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s Socio-cultural Systems Model of Creativity. The results of the qualitative research will help understand the emergent creativity development at the crossroads of the social and cultural fields, music, and personal discourse.
