THE ROLE OF COOLANT IN THE ENERGY BALANCE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES

САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

Coolant in the energy balance of an internal combustion engine is a key fluid and often overlooked component that plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal performance and durability of an internal combustion engine due to its ability to absorb excess heat generated by fuel combustion. The aim of the paper is to present the energy balance of an internal combustion car with an emphasis on the role of the coolant. The paper presents the testing of the properties the coolant in real conditions. The results of measurements using the two most commonly used methods, Refractometer and Hydrometer with float, were compared with theoretical expectations.
