САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
Pino Arlacchi has extensively analyzed the relationship between entrepreneurship and criminal organizations in works that have become foundational in sociological and criminological scholarship. His approach played a central role in shaping our participation in a European project on youth and entrepreneurship, conducted during 2024–2025 and involving five universities across Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Malta. This paper presents the key findings of that research. Southern Europe constitutes a reservoir of untapped potential, capable of making substantial contributions to economic, civic, and legal development. However, in the absence of well-prepared and responsive institutions, the human potential risks being diverted into illegal entrepreneurship, criminal networks, and mafia structures.
