SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
An element that is widely considered necessary in the rapid progress of the energy transition is battery. Batteries convert chemical energy into electricity, and there are various models. Unlike primary batteries, which are available for single use, secondary batteries allow for multiple charges and discharges. One of the main advantages of lithium-ion batteries is that they can store large amounts of electricity relative to their size and weight, making them very useful. They are more economical and environmentally friendly than primary batteries, which must be disposed of after use. However, limitations in the availability of lithium and the high cost of its extraction have led to a search for alternative materials. Sodium-ion batteries have emerged as a promising alternative due to the abundance of sodium and its low cost. This paper offers an answer to current questions about the performance of the two mentioned types of batteries.
