САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

This paper investigates the problem of optimal placement and sizing of solar power plants in distribution networks, considering their impact on the system’s voltage stability. Unlike deterministic approaches that rely on the analysis of a single operating condition, this study employs a probabilistic methodology based on Monte Carlo simulations.

This approach enables the assessment of the impact of solar power plants across a wide range of possible operating scenarios by varying the load levels at network nodes and the generation from solar sources in accordance with fluctuations in solar irradiance. The analysis is carried out on the standard IEEE 69-bus distribution network model, with key evaluation parameters including changes in voltage stability indices and active power losses. The growing integration of distributed energy resources necessitates precise planning methods for their connection, since unfavourably sized or improperly located solar power plants may cause voltage amplitudes to deviate from acceptable limits – either falling below or exceeding the permitted range – and trigger reverse power flows. The aim of this paper is to contribute to the enhancement of the criteria for integrating solar power plants into distribution networks with limited capacity for accommodating renewable energy sources, considering variations in consumption and generation through a probabilistic analysis.
