SAŽETAK / ABSTRACT:
The terms “peak shaving” and “peak-shaving product” are present in the Regulation (EU) 2024/1747 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2024 amending Regulations (EU) 2019/942 and (EU) 2019/943 as regards improving the Union’s electricity market design. These terms mean the ability of market participants to reduce electricity consumption from the grid at peak hours at the request of the system operator and a market-based product by means of which market participants can provide peak shaving to system operators. With the higher integration of renewables in the distribution and transmission system the changes are detected in the daily diagrams of the consumption from the perspective of system operators what was initiation for recognition of possible electricity market product in Serbia that could contribute to better flexibility of the electricity system and sustainability of its work. The diagrams of the consumption and the electricity prices from the organized electricity market in Serbia have been used in the analysis to find the conclusion about possible options regarding if a new “peak-shaving product” should be developed for the different time horizons or the unique product is enough to reach the final goal.
