САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

In the process of decarbonization electricity generation and integrating intermittent renewable energy sources, power system stability is one of the main technical challenges.

The presence of intermittent renewable energy sources, such as wind farms, photovoltaic power plants and biomass power plants, on one hand, increases the risk of power system collapse, while on the other hand, distributed generation enables a new approach to power system restoration. This paper analyzes the possibility of establishing islanded operation of a microgrid with a renewable energy source after a blackout in the transmission network. The process of voltage and frequency restoration and stabilization in the islanded operation of the microgrid will be analyzed. The research will include system modeling and transient process analysis during the gradual establishment of stable microgrid operation under variable load conditions. Based on the conducted analyses, the conditions for islanded operation of the microgrid with a given load will be assessed, as well as the potential for providing ancillary services through microgrid participation in the transmission system restoration process under black start conditions. The conducted analyses will also be discussed in the context of enhancing the resilience of the power system with distributed generation through the concept of establishing and hierarchically organizing energy self-sustaining microgrids following the collapse of the global power system.
