САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
This paper provides an overview of commercially available energy storage systems, as well as those in the research phase, that can be used in the transmission and distribution segments of the power system. The basic technical characteristics, advantages, and disadvantages of each mentioned system are presented. Special attention is devoted to the cost-effectiveness of energy storage system applications when renewable energy sources are present in the power system.
