САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

This paper describes the possibilities and practical application of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) in the maintenance of overhead power lines in the EMS AD transmission system. The aim of the paper is to present and highlight the advantages of using drones over traditional methods and to identify tasks where unmanned aerial vehicles can contribute to improving the maintenance process. The focus is on enhancing the reliability of the power system through the integration of drones in maintenance, visual, and diagnostic inspections of overhead high-voltage power lines. The paper also describes the capabilities of the drone, with a review of the technical characteristics of the equipment used by EMS AD and their specific application.

By using drones in these operations, operational costs, inspection time, and risks associated with traditional methods are significantly reduced, improving worker safety when working at heights and in inaccessible areas. Practical examples demonstrate the use of drones in real-time and field conditions, highlighting their role in preventive, regular, and emergency maintenance in „challenging“ terrain and weather conditions.
