САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

Transmission 400kV network around HE PP Đerdap 1 is a very important energy hub and an important transit route both for Serbia and for other countries in Southeastern Europe. Outage of 400 kV overhead lines in this part of the Serbian network could have a significant impact on the reliable and stable operation of both, the energy system in Serbia and other countries in the rest of continental Europe. This paper presents the most recent situation in which those specific overhead lines were threatened by fire in the region of Bor, a city in Eastern Serbia. The overhead lines were preventively deenergized. The result of those activities was significant reduction of generation from HE PP Đerdap 1.

The danger of cascading outages in the 400kV network was present during fire situation, as well as the potential separation of the transmission network of continental Europe and power interruption for large number of consumers. This paper aims to display activities that serve to protect network assets from fire and to prevent similar future situations. These 3 groups of activities were done simultaneously: active communication with firefighting units within the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia and voluntary firefighting units from Kladovo, seeking the commercial software for presents fire in real time via satellite images and techno-economic analysis of the commercial use of firefighting aircraft in the months when fires are the most frequent.
