САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
In electric arc furnace plants, transformers are exposed to the risk of switching overvoltages that occur during the disconnection of vacuum circuit breakers, particularly due to multiple contact flashovers. To protect transformers, RC filters are employed to suppress high-frequency overvoltages. This paper presents a procedure for determining the parameters of the RC filter based on technical data and simulations, as well as the verification of their effectiveness through the analysis of transient phenomena and steady-state behavior. Additionally, the effects of overvoltages during the transient period are analyzed, as well as the conditions that the RC filter must meet to ensure reliable protection of the transformer under real operating conditions.
