САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

Improving the performance and extending the working life of rotating machines in operation through their renovation, improvement of design, replacement of used insulating materials with new ones, and in order to maintain the safety, stability and reliability of the power system, in today’s energy transition, represents a significant challenge. The revitalization of the hydro generators in HPP „Djerdap 1“ meant the replacement, reconstruction and improvement of the design of certain elements of the generator equipment. By the contract of revitalization, it was foreseen to do the revitalization of main generator rotor poles in the factory of the equipment manufacturer in Russian Federation. Bearing in mind the increased risk of force majeure, i.e. logistical restrictions towards the Russian Federation, the revitalization of the rotor poles of the main generator of the last stage of the revitalization was carried out in a domestic factory in Serbia. This paper will present the organizational and technical-technological problems of the realization of works on the revitalization of the rotor poles of the main generator, the specifics of the procedure of revitalization of the rotor poles using the vacuum impregnation method (VPI method) and the differences compared to the original design. The technical task and the Quality Control Plan defined all the necessary renovation work, control measurements and tests on the pole cores, then control measurements and tests on the delivered new rotor pole windings and finally all the necessary work and tests during the assembly of the windings on the pole core using the VPI method.
