САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
Synchronous turbogenerators, in addition to being important in the production of electricity, are also important from the aspect of the inertia of the frequency change in the power system. In modern systems, where there is an increasing share of renewable energy sources without inertia (wind turbines and solar panels connected to the system using inverters), the role of synchronous generators in providing the inertia of rotating masses becomes even more important from the aspect of system stability. The paper provides an overview of the basic technical parameters and characteristics of the new turbogenerator B3 in TPP „Kostolac B“, rated power 412/350 (MVA/MW), which was first synchronized to the Serbian power system on January 26th, 2024. Trial run of 168 hours was successfully completed on October 15th, 2024. and the Unit was handed over to EPS AD on 03.12.2025. by signing the TOC (taking over certificate). The specifics of the construction of the generator are described, especially the construction of stator end windings and the modern checking of the dimensions of the ends of the bars used in high power generators for nuclear power plants. Technological schemes of the system for: gas installation for hydrogen cooling and demi-water cooling station for the stator windings are presented. A list of implemented generator electrical protections is given, as well as a description of the generator excitation system and temperature monitoring
