SAŽETAK: 

Pre istraživanja specifičnosti i pitanja osiguranja autorskog prava u popularnoj muzici u radu se prvo obrađuju pojam popularne muzike, razvoj zakonodavstva autorskog prava, lica koja uživaju zakonsku zaštitu, pojedinci sa srodnim pravima i nastanak autorskih prava u popularnoj muzici. To je neophodno za adekvatno razumevanje osiguranja od odgovornosti zbog povrede autorskog prava u popularnoj muzici. Muzika je oduvek bila važan deo kulture i društva. Savremeni muzički preduzetnici se bave različitim žanrovima i aktivnostima. To je postalo zanimanje u kojem se ostvaruje dobit od stvaranja, izvođenja i distribucije muzike. Zaštita autorskih prava na muzičkom materijalu, prava kompozitora, tekstopisaca, izvođača i ovlašćenja raspolaganja u tržišnoj ekonomiji je pitanje od najveće važnosti danas. Kombinovani prihodi u svetu i Srbiji pokazuju koliko je muzička industrija uvek bila lukrativna. Stoga u prvom delu ovog rada istražujemo muzička autorska prava u Srbiji i odabranim pravnim sistemima da bi u drugom delu objasnili mesto ove vrste osiguranja u sistemu osiguranja, odredili predmet osiguranja i osiguravajuće poktiće i obavezama prijavljivanje bitnih činjenica koje su specifične za tu vrstu osiguranja.
