ABSTRACT / SAŽETAK:

This study investigates the durability properties of geopolymer mortar and concrete. Fly ash was used as the primary binder, with partial replacement by ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) and ladle slag (LS). Durability was evaluated through sulfate resistance and freeze-thaw resistance tests, primarily by measuring compressive strength of subjected samples. The measured values of the tested specimens were compared with reference samples of the same mix design and age, which were until the testing time stored under ambient conditions. The results showed that geopolymer mortar exhibited excellent resistance to both external sulfate attack and freeze-thaw cycles. For geopolymer concrete, all mixes showed strong resistance to external sulfate attack. However, in the freeze-thaw resistance test, the mixture containing 20% GGBFS and 80% fly ash did not show resistance to the specified number of freeze-thaw cycles.
