ABSTRACT / САЖЕТАК:
Metafora se ispoljava u različitim modalitetima komunikacije, te pored verbalnih, i slikovne i multimodalne metafore doprinose razumevanju značenja određenih pojmova. Sjedinjujući teorijski okvir kritičke analize metafora (Charteris-Black, 2018, 2021; Musolff, 2016) sa teorijom multimodalnosti sa kognitivnog stanovišta (Bounegru & Forceville, 2011; Forceville, 2024), u radu ispitujemo jedan od načina konceptualizacije nedavne ekonomske krize izazvane pandemijom kovida u novinskim karikaturama. Materijal za analizu čine karikature iz onlajn verzija britanskih i američkih novina objavljenih 2020. i 2021. godine. U radu se usredsređujemo na strukturiranje ciljnog domena PANDEMIJSKA EKONOMSKA KRIZA putem metafore vode, a cilj nam je da pokažemo kako slikovne i multimodalne manifestacije PANDEMIJSKE EKONOMSKE KRIZE u novinskim karikaturama prenose negativna vrednosna određenja i izazivaju emotivni naboj kod čitalaca. Metafora VODE pokazuje se kao efektno sredstvo za razumevanje ozbiljnosti i posledica ekonomske krize po svetsku ekonomiju u doba pandemije, zahvaljujući osobini metafore da u multimodalnom diskursu kreira i prenosi značenje putem spoja jezika i slike.
