САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:
Waterway system Danube-Tisa-Danube had been developed in several stages in the period of 1947-1977. It is a multifunctional system, with irrigation and ship traffic being its primary roles. The system comprises entirely 20094 km of channels (929 km being transmission channels) with appurtenant infrastructure (dams, weirs, ship ports and navigation locks, drainage pumping stations, bridges, electric transmission lines). The system is actively used for irrigation purposes only several months per year. During the rest of the time the system is almost passive. Such regime of exploitation allows for installing system of SHPPs in order of active utilization of available hydraulic and hydropower capacity (entirely 11 SHPPs, of combined installed capacity 17.55 MW and average annual energy generation of 77.39 GWh). Detailed overview of the SHPPs and their technical characteristics is presented.
