САЖЕТАК / ABSTRACT:

In recent years, many efforts have been made to decrease cement-based products’ carbon footprint and protect the environment. In this study, cement was partially replaced with 16wt.% mechanically activated fly ash (MAFA). In addition, crystalline admixture (CA) was added to cement mortar, and the effect of MAFA and CA on the fresh mortar properties, mechanical properties, and self-healing was investigated. After 28 days of curing, the mortar with 16 wt.% MAFA has enhanced compressive strength (4.4%) and healing efficiency up to 37% compared to the reference mortar. Replacing cement with fly ash as a by-product from thermal power plants supports the circularity of industrial wastes and resource efficiency thus protecting the environment, but also influences the decrease of CO2 emissions.
